How we determine the order.
A chronology is only useful if you can understand why something is where it is. Story Order assesses placement using available canonical information, official timelines, dates stated within the stories and relationships between events.
- Where the answer is clear, we place it accordingly.
- Where chronology is approximate, we say so.
- Where sources conflict, we flag it.
- Where multiple continuities exist, we keep them distinct.
The aim is not to force every story into a perfect timeline. It is to give you the clearest possible view of how the universe fits together.

What is Story Order?
Story Order is a reference library that maps books, films, television, games, comics and audio stories inside their fictional chronology.
Is chronological order always best for a first visit?
Not always. Chronology shows when events happen; release order preserves how audiences originally discovered them. Universe guides keep release order available when it is the better starting route.
How do you handle different adaptations and continuities?
Separate canons and adaptation continuities remain clearly labelled. We do not merge contradictory versions into one invented timeline.
What happens when the order is uncertain?
Approximate or disputed placements are marked in the guide and explained with chronology notes. We prefer an honest range over false precision.
Are upcoming stories included?
Confirmed upcoming works may be tracked separately, but they are not treated as released or placed in the numbered chronology until enough reliable information is available.
Can I request a universe?
Yes. Use the request page to suggest a franchise, missing story or confusing branch. No email address is required.
