About Story Order

Your favourite stories. Universes, explored.

Story Order is for anyone who finished the obvious story and immediately asked, ‘Wait—there’s more?’ We map the famous chapters, hidden companions and gloriously strange detours into one spoiler-light universe.

The rabbit hole, with better signposts

The version you discovered first is rarely the whole story. An older novel may explain a film, a forgotten game may sit between two major chapters, and a new audio story may reopen a world you thought was finished. Story Order brings those connections into one universe map without turning curiosity into homework or canon into a purity test.

Our methodology

  • Universe pages open fully expanded in story chronology, with release order available as a second view.
  • Timeline order is checked against official franchise and platform collections.
  • Each underlying story appears once; researched book, screen, audio and interactive versions live beneath that title.
  • Canon and continuity are researched as useful listing details, not used to exclude interesting stories from the universe.
  • Starter Mode is an optional filter over the complete map, never a smaller substitute guide.
  • Notes are written independently and kept deliberately light on plot details.
  • Each guide shows its most recent editorial review date.

Read the complete editorial methodology, including source priorities, ambiguous timeline rules and update standards.

Eighteen worlds open—and none declared finished

Eighteen universes are open now, from Marvel, DC and Star Wars to Assassin’s Creed, The Witcher, Avatar: The Last Airbender, Middle-earth, the Cosmere, Malazan, Discworld and the Realm of the Elderlings. Every page uses the same full chronology, release-order view, story-version links and optional exploration filters. Some maps are already deep; others are waiting for their franchise-by-franchise research pass. We label the work honestly and keep expanding it.
