There is no single Fate timeline. Stay night’s three routes are alternate versions of the same war. Everything is a branch-grouped catalogue, not one chronological sequence across universes. Game chapters and screen versions share cards.

Separate universe: Fate/stay night
Fourth Holy Grail War, ten years before stay night. Chronological prequel; first-time viewers can save it until after Unlimited Blade Works and Heaven’s Feel.
Route 1: Saber-focused version of the Fifth Holy Grail War. An alternative to UBW and Heaven’s Feel, not an earlier war. The 2006 anime mixes material from other routes.
Route 2: alternate Fifth Holy Grail War. The ufotable TV series is the suggested first-time screen entry, followed by Heaven’s Feel and then Zero.
Route 3: alternate Fifth Holy Grail War. Film order: Presage Flower → Lost Butterfly → Spring Song. The three films adapt this single visual-novel route.
Composite follow-up around a repeating four-day cycle, not a clean continuation of only one route.

Game entries stay in the same researched timeline, with adaptations and side stories labelled so they do not distort the play sequence.
Books, comics and other reading material are placed by story chronology while publication order remains available as a separate view.
Release order re-sorts the same mapped stories by first publication or release instead of creating a duplicate guide page.

52 released story records; 52 including upcoming works. Adaptations and editions are grouped. Coverage follows the supplied guides and their September 8, 2026 editorial cutoff; not an exhaustive edition, stage-production or live-game event inventory. Coverage is current through 21 September 2026.

The Fate, UBW and Heaven’s Feel stories are alternatives. Hollow ataraxia is a composite follow-up.
Part 1 → Epic of Remnant → Cosmos in the Lostbelt → Ordeal Call. The dates visited do not determine reading order. Limited-time events are not an exhaustive part of this map.
Each continuity has its own route. Prisma’s first-time screen order saves Oath Under Snow until after 3rei!!; chronological placement puts that prequel first.

Story versions
Researched editions and adaptations stay together under one story.
